A galaxy far, far away is headed to the “World Outside Your Window.”
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Star Wars, Marvel Comics and Lucasfilm Publishing unveiled Star Wars/Marvel: Hope Assembles, the first-ever crossover between the two beloved franchises launching in January 2027. Penned by pop culture icon Kevin Smith and drawn by Uncanny X-Men (2024) superstar David Marquez, the historic five-issue limited series assembles heroes and villains from both universes in a single story for the first time. As the Avengers, Spider-Man, and more team up with the iconic Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, and Chewbacca, Doctor Doom will ally himself with the likes of Darth Vader and the Galactic Empire.
In 1977, the original Star Wars film reshaped pop culture for decades to come, being referenced in everything from music to film – including the pages of Marvel Comics. With the Marvel Universe being the “World Outside Your Window,” the Star Wars franchise firmly exists on Earth-616. But what could have been a narrative challenge quickly transformed into a one-of-a-kind crossover where the heroes of the Marvel Universe see the events of A New Hope unfold on Earth before their very eyes after a reality-shattering spell.
